Abstract
This work validates the use of these medicinal plants in treatment of sexually transmitted vi infections (STIs). Phytochemicals detected may well explain the biological activity reported. Thirteen traditional healers were interviewed using a structured questionnaire on the use of medicinal plants in the treatment of sexually transmitted infections within Blouberg area, Limpopo Province- South Africa. Eleven medicinal plants from eight families have been documented and sixty-two plant extracts were prepared and tested for antibacterial activity against 23 human pathogenic bacterial strains using disc diffusion method.
