Abstract
This study is about the historical development of the University
of Zululand Library, with particular reference to i ts buildings ,
staff collection and computerization, from 1960 to 1987.
Also included in this study is t he branch library at Umlazi
Campus. The aim of the thi s study is to trace the history of the
University of Zululand Library from i ts inception i n 1960 to the
most recent structure completed in 1987, since this has not been
done before except the scattered information on the his t or y of
t his library •
